Hi all - curious if anyone has seen this before on a miller?this is a multimatic 215. Guy powered it on when i bought it. Went to try stick weld today and the cable was burned into the plug and wouldnt come out - any ideas how this could happen?

Reply:Yes, seen several burnt weld terminals on this welder. Most of them are the positive one. To repair you will need to replace the front panel, the receptacle and a spacer behind the panel. Then replace the Dinze plug on the cord. To complete the repair you will need the 215 label and the positive and negative stickers. there is a screw under the stickers. The cause is the Dinze connector loose in the receptacle. These small Dinze connectors need to be checked before each use. Just turn to the right and make sure they are tight. This is an operator caused failure and will not be covered by the machine warranty if in warranty.

Reply:Thanks! Estimated cost of this repair?Guy said he would give my $ back and I have a new unit in the cart from a supplier for $700 - so will think about it - rest of the machine looks very new and LCD/controls work fine-

Reply:Don’t know how much you paid, but I would pay the $700 for a new one with warranty. Especially on multiprocess machine.Burt _____________________Miller Syncrowave 250Millermatic 211Miller 375 Plasma Cutter Hobart Handler 12010FtDrillBit.com
Reply:$700 is a great new price for a welder that is in the market at over $1500, where did you find it at $700?https://www.weldingsuppliesfromioc.c...-welder-907693---Meltedmetal
Reply:i paid 925 - well managed to clean up the dinse connector and the welder works gr8.Guy at the miller repair shop ran the s/n, its a 2019 June model, so 1 and a half yr left on warranty, he was super helpful so i decided to keep it- good deal imo.. 1 and a half years left, plus the welder had all the plugs in it - they only flux core welded with it |
