Hello.I was researching what kind of wire you need to MIG weld cast iron and found the ERNi-CI and the ERNiFe-CI.But the manufacturers recommend using 75% argon and 25% helium !! The wires are already expensive enough. Can I use C25 or 100% argon, or would the result be horrible? Also, can I use ERNi-1 wire, or is it too different than ERNi-CI?Thanks.
Reply:What are you wanting to Mig weld that’s cast iron?Gear: Esab power compact 205 with tbi industries torch         BOC Smootharc 185dc tig         Miller Syncrowave 350LX
Reply:I want to repair a broken old stove.Does the wire really need argon and helium?
Reply:Crown Alloys shows you can use Ar/CO2, CO2 or straight argon.
Reply:That's probably dual shield wire, not a solid one for short-circuit mode.I cannot find an answer anywhere...
