Soooo. When I had my 225 apart for the transformer work I noticed something. On the range selection switch there is a pin inserted to stop the switch from turning to the last contact. That last contact has the wiring going strait from the generator (bypass the transformer/choke) to the polarity switch then onto the leads. On the 225 faceplate there is obviously no marks showing this last tap. On the 250 faceplate everything is exactly the same as the 225 besides the last tap is marked 100-250amps. It makes me question if the only difference between the 225 and 250 is this pin in the range selection switch is removed and a different faceplate is used? This is the only picture of the switch I have. You can't see the limiting pin in this pic but you can see the last tap on the left (counter clock wise) (not the tap connected to the inner ring) is the one that is blocked from being used. The wiring on my 225 does get hooked up to this tap.

Reply:It is probably a horsepower thing,, the 250 amps needs a few more HP?? So, they limit the amps with a stop pin, to match the lower HP of the 225 machine?
Reply:Possibly, I have no idea. I figured someone here would have tried it or knew.12v battery, jumper cables, and a 6013.I only have a facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/pages/VPT/244788508917829
Reply:That is interesting, is it a late model or an older style bobcat? I believe the current style uses the same 23 horse Kohler on the 225 and 250. I'm not sure about the older ones but I bet it's the sameSent from my BE2012 using Tapatalk |
