Here are a few pics of the ice chest racer that I built. It was the first major project I ever built.

A little one hamburger grill on front and that could be called a "survival kit" racer.

Reply:Very very nice. The attention to detail is great. It is also nice that the kids were involved. So many parents do not involve their kids in things other than sports. The only thing I see that isn't "right" is your spindles are swapped left for right. (The steering arms should be at the top.) This will throw your Ackerman principle way off and you will have a heck of a push going into the turns!

I'm surprised the other eagle eyes on here didn't see it!!Oh, by the way, crops are green-tractors are red!Rex

Reply:Thanks for all the compliments. As far as the spindles I will keep that in mind. I have a free rotating hub on the rear axle that helps with the steering on the turns.

Reply:How about putting a 48hp wankel motor the size of a toaster on one of these things?  4x the output!  http://www.renntechkarting.com/products_xr50.html
Reply:The closest we come to immortalizing ourselves is the impression we left on others and the things we made that last longer than ourselves. Havin a little fun in the process is invaluable.. Gettin the kids involved and havin them dig on it is friggin priceless.. Wasted money and/or time.? I think not.!! ..Neat little rigs, fellas.!!

Reply:Wow, as if the world wasn't dangerous enough. leave it to the germans to put a turbo on a beer box. Don't get me wrong, I would ride the $h*t out of one of those. But it wouldn't end well.www.performancealuminumfabrication.com

Reply:We have a parade in town. I may make something like this to advertise. If I do a lot drag  racing use it to get around the pits. I have an idea of what I want to make. More of a Barstool Truck.
