Eutectic MAGNA-TRAN AC/DC WELDER MODLE--MD 201 W2---JROne for sale sort of close for 250 bux, rigged for tig already. Pictures are poor and seller knows very little. Looking for info, i do not find a model 201 but find model 301 that looks the same. Do these have built in HF for tig? And is it a decent machine. I suspect part support to be about 0% but its cheap enough.What is your experience with them?
Reply:I owned one many years ago, yes it does have it's own HF unit and is variable in intensity via knob.  The 200 amp model has an output of 300 amps and the 300 model has output of 400 amps.  The torch for that 200 model is quite beefy in size if it has the original torch supplied and is water cooled.  They where made by MID-STATES and the schematic of that unit is glued on the inside of the left hand sheet metal cover (must remove top cover) and then remove this cover.  The HF unit can be removed after the front door is swung down.  Hope this helps you.  Very heavy unit.  BobLast edited by rhunt; 12-19-2020 at 08:20 AM.
