Older roughneck 1E every thing works as it should except the 220 outlet has one leg at 125v (goes into rotor) and the one coming from the 120 outlet has 118v. any thoughts. Checked all the normal things, I don't understand why the one leg is higher than the rest. Thanks in advance
Reply:If you asked an electrical engineer about how that transformer on the pole splits the high voltage (like over seven thousand volts) into two low voltage lines, out of phase with each other,,,he would go on for a half an hour, then finally tell you that the two voltages being that close to 120 is good!!
Reply:My Miller Roughneck 1E has a single duplex outlet on its face for 115VAC (nominal). I've never seen one with a higher voltage option for generator output.Last edited by Denis G; 03-31-2021 at 06:48 AM.
