Reply:This will sound dumb, but I've seen the knobs on those get turned slightly off from the click point. Still feeds wire but no weld.If yours has continuous dials, then that doesn't apply...But, make sure your "ground clamp" is clamped on a bare ground down spot.If good contact is not made, no weld.Dave J.Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance. ~George Bernard Shaw~ Syncro 350Invertec v250-sThermal Arc 161 and 300MM210DialarcTried being normal once, didn't take....I think it was a Tuesday.
Reply:Good clean contact point just a couple inches from weld point.new ground clamp.will check dials for good positioning as I do believe it is something odd like that.thanks for your response Crobar
Reply:No gostill no sparkmaybe I need to test components?Don’t know which is most likely to die first.
Reply:If you feel up to it. Below is something to get you started. See if you have power to the control board.

Reply:Find a volt meter and connect it to the polarity studs. pull gun trigger. see if you have voltage at this point and your wire feeds. If so, short the gun tip to the work clamp while meter is still connected to the studs. pull trigger, if voltage does not change the miggun is open. If you don't want to take a chance on damaging the tip, feed out 6 inches of wire and put work clamp on the end. if gun good the wire will turn red.If you do not have voltage at the polarity studs you have a problem inside the welder case. |
