Is anyone using this welder? I did a search but it didn't yield any results. I'm thinking of making this my personal welder. I making the switch from wire back to stick which is how I learned to Weld. Any replies would be appreciated.
Reply:FWIW, I have the HOBART STICKMATE LX235AC/160DC and I am very happy with it. I am also a terrible hobbyist welder. Mine is years old now and works like a champ.Hobart Stickmate LX235

Reply:I believe Hobart has quit making the transformer machines and are now making the inverter models now. The transformer model can still be found for sale at Tractor Supply though and probably some other places. I have the same machine as Foghornleghorn and I like mine and wouldn't trade mine for one of those inveter models. I'm not a professional and that's just my opinion as inverters do have some advantage over transformers, just not for what I do.
Reply:The Idea of the Stickmate 200 has some appeal for running some 5/32 lohy, will run it from a common 50 outlet. Weighs 15#.www.urkafarms.com
