Put 7k on this oil and going to have it tested and see if it still meets all the oil manufacturers specs. Under 25$ to test it. Can’t beat that lol

Reply:to get a true reading of what the engine is doing, you need to test the oil several times as you put on the miles to compare new and old samples to see if there is more metallic content in the oil or other impurities...
Reply:Get mine done by Toromont CAT, taxes in CAN$ 29.00....and they give you a container and mailing sample in is included :-).to get a true reading of what the engine is doing, you need to test the oil several times as you put on the miles to compare new and old samples to see if there is more metallic content in the oil or other impurities.

Reply:If it meets the manufacturers requirements I’m guessing there’s still life in the oil.
Reply:I suppose you'd be alright if you just follow the change intervals recommended by the manufacturer.I have some old engines in the Allis tractors that have so much blowby that the oil looks like molasses a few hours after an oil change.  Never seems to make a difference.  The Oliver was built in either 1964, or 1968, and it just started generating enough blowby to cloud the oil between oil changes.  Prior to that, it was pretty clear between changes.  I guess it all depends on the motor, and how it was taken care of.The old Rotella seemed to handle soot better than the new formulation.  The new stuff doesn't seem to suspend the soot as well.  I'd rather have the soot in the oil, than sitting somewhere inside the motor.  I switched to WalMart 15-40 on the Allis, and it comes out like sludge(I mean not like glue, but ya know) after a season

I like to see black oil on an old engine.........means it's doing its job.I think that you shouldn't push your motor oil in a diesel beyond change intervals.  Excessive soot in the oil isn't all that great for the motor........remember that soot is carbon, which is very hard, and wears stuff.  AND, it increases viscosity, which can make it hard to maintain proper oil pressure.  Also makes for wear on cold starts, because it doesn't flow fast.

Reply:BTW................................What is the interval on that motor??
Reply:The Ford interval not the Moto interval

Sammy, some of the Wallyworld stuff is made by Warren. Sometimes not, but Warren makes quality stuff.. Not quite the Triple Ester full syn. I run in my bike, but certainly good enough for my little car..There is nothing like ester in high heat applications. Also floats carbon out like nobodies Business..  Ron,over at SFT  used to sell a bunch of the additive packages to major oil companies. He says Warren never short changes anyone on it's additive packages. I don't run Wally world unless I know it's  from Warren.  I do the real deal straight from Warren.. Do it all the time rarely do I come to a complete stop. Have to do it that way anyway. It is what it is and works to my advantage. Lot of the time I’m in neutral and thow it in gear right before the intersection or under the light 3-4 gear, I count low as first. I actually wouldnt  be in 4th 25 yards away while light is red. Too fast for this granny. I’d be gearing down in 3rd probably4th is 35 mph minimum speed 1500 rpm and 3rd 25 mph minimum speed 1350rpm. I don’t cruise at that tho. Just pull it up. Cruise at 1500 minimum, 1st and 2nd can go much lower
Reply:Sammy,189.000 on my f-150. It uses no oil between changes, and now pulls 19 mpg with downsizing the tires.. Same load rating though.. This is the very last year of the 351 Winsor Just got back from a 800 round trip to Seattle, and drives like new. (no Rattles)208,000 on the little car, and pulls 50 mpg going over the mountain some times. My Moto Guzzi gets the good stuff, and being a 2007 with 5400 miles it should last till the end. In fact al my rigs will make it longer then me.. First came out they spec.5-40 oil in that.. They figured out over time that 10-60 was the Ticket in them..Even a sticker under the seat with that info.. Wish it was 5-40, but 10-60 is it.. Had Motul in it, but this stuff has been proven to work great in my Ducati (air cooled) and my Aprilia V-twin  Triple ester is the bomb .. https://maximausa.com/i-30497625-ext...n-10w-60.html#! I found deals on the stuff in 5 gals and less half price of the $50 normal price. You should see what the cams look like, and spotless the engine is inside..You are not going to spec out standard type oil in 10-60. Has to be syn. Ester is it.. (IMO)By the Delo 400 is good oil for the 7.3. Cheap enough to just keep it clean.Last edited by Brand X; 12-17-2020 at 02:09 AM.Esab/Lorch ET-220iEsab 160i caddyThermal LM-200 Lincoln feedersThermal Pee-Wee 85sThermal 60i- 3phase /RPC powered (Beast)Thermal Drag-gun 35CINE 1500 Klutch 140i
Reply:I bought the motor craft filter this time. It was about half the price as wix and 4 gallons adds up. I went to ohrileys. They price matched Walmart if u show the ad. It was like 11 something a gallon.  Baxter’s wants like 20$ a gallon for it. Instore at Walmart I think it’s about 12-13 something. He gave me the  online deal since that’s what I showed him. 56 total and some change. No tax in Oregon

johnt driving this truck? Going 55-60 in a 60 and this guy gets this close. Lot of the time they like to leave me this much room in the front. His boss was happy I called him. You don’t get 80k 3’ from a car going 65 and think it’s ok. Lot of stupid semi drivers that could be replaced by a good driver with patience

Reply:I have used delvac1 and a bypass filter on my truck and skid loader for about 20 years now.  When I ran my truck a lot I would change oil 1 time per year no matter how many miles I put on it. Now that I am retired and do not use the truck much I will change oil every 3 years.  My skid loader gets the oil changed every 500 hrs and it take a long time for it to get 500 hrs on it.  The first couple of years I had the oil tested in the truck but found I was not even close to it deteriorating so I quit testing it.   The skid loader oil stays clear for over 200 hrs and by 500 hrs its about the color of medium maple syrup.   In a diesel that is saying something. I will say that I have to put a qt of oil in the skid loader about every 50 hrs or so and if I was so inclined I could probably get by with never changing the oil in it and just replace the bypass filter and regular filter every 500 hrs.The only reason I don't do it is thast I would want to start testing the oil again and if Im going to do that I might as well just change the oil.  A 1 micron bypass filter is the only way to go if you keep your stuff for a long time.
Reply:John in the grey Toyota. Stopped.

bye John. See ya soon

john stopped at the light, killed all his momentum that he had to build up from the last light he was stopped at.

john taking off, see you soon buddy

Reply:

theres John. He’s using a lot of fuel taking back off

now John is behind my again but speeds up and passes me until the next light

john and his buddy got the move put on them again

never had to push the clutch in besides leaving my house. And used the brake for a few seconds. Not trying to catch these people either. I shift at the minimum rpm and let it drop to 1500

Reply:I can see why you don't use the shifter what with taking all those pics and all

Reply:Got my gears mixed up earlier. 5 is 35 mph minimum and 4 is 25. Almost scared myself for a minute thinking about going that fast. 3rd goes down to 15 mph at 1500 I think
