Has anyone here built a scissor hoist for a trailer ??The dump angle has been debated extensively and I know from experience that 45 deg is not enough if there is the slightest amount of moisture in the load. Is 50-55 deg enough?
Reply:More angle more better.I know it's a trade off with design limitations and all, but if you can make that bed come as close as possible to standing right up you will like it better.
Reply:I guess it depends on what you are hauling. Firewood is no problem. Damp soil seems to work fine. I dont dig in the mud. I think mine goes up to 60 degrees and has a steel treadplate floor. Works just fine most of the time. If it doesnt just slide out I usually just pull forward a foot or two.Lincolin Power Wave 450, Lincoln Powermig 255, Lincoln Pro Mig 140, Lincoln Squarewave Tig 275, Miller Big 40 G(with Hobart Hefty suitcase), Thermal Arc 95S and Esab PCM875 in an already full machine shop.
