Milwaukee Portaband Guide Bearings

Anyone found a source for the little roller bearings in the blade guides? Seems silly to buy new blade guides every time a roller bearing goes out, and the newer style with the skinny bearings doubled up does not hold up as well as the old style that had one wide bearing. Reply:I was just looking through the parts list today. It seems the bearings were available separately.
Reply:I have always purchased them separately from my local repair shop.  Though may be available from a bearing distributor as I purchase my larger guide bearing from my local bearing distributor..

Reply:My one an only portaband is a Makita that I bought used. I checked the bearings and half of them were not ok, so I bought a bunch out of Aliexpress and replace them all.The sparte parts diagram should give you the infor needed to find the generic part (bearings are bearings after all). If not, take one of the blade guides appart, measure it and done...Now I need to find the wheel tires just in case (a bit loose right now).Mikel

Reply:Does not apply, but it was curious to me that the bearings I recently changed in my John Deere mower deck spindles were made by Peer.

Reply:Yep.  Somebody has figured out the formula that cut the life span by two-thirds.  I have never had one crack.  Mine usually wear thin, get impregnated with metal, and begin to slip.  Perhaps since newer saws have clutches the needed a new formula to keep folk buying parts.
