Question for the electrical experts out there. I own 2 welders (Millermatic 250 and Syncrowave 180SD), and I just bought a new house that I want to run a 220 line into the garage that will support both machines safely. My question is which gage wire should I run (its about 70ft from the panel to the location where I want to put the receptacle)? And which ampere circuit breaker should I use? According to the manual for the 250, @ 230 input volts, they suggest a max breaker rating of 70. In the Syncrowave manual, it suggest a max breaker rating of 100 amperes @ 230 input volts. The 100 amp breaker seems excessive to me. I would rather have a lower amp breaker that will trip long before the wires start to melt. Could I use a 40 or 50 amp breaker for both of these machines?Your help is greatly appreciated.
