miller vs lincoln

going to buy a welder for light car fab need to know the best welder to buy a 135 millermatic or a lincoln 135 plus                                                       thx                                                           John
Reply:Personally I would reccomend looking at the 175 line.  It will be alot better if you plan on doing anything thicker like work on the frames etc, and I think you will be glad you did on down the road...  as far as the lincoln Vs. Miller its like ford vs chevy everyone has a favorite  but no one can say for sure which one is better than the other. I have millers and lincolns in my shop, and both are good machines.  Personally I would shop around and go with the one that you get the better deal on, and/or which ever your local supply deals in most (will be easier to get parts).  Good luck  ~Jackson    oh, and welcome to the boardI'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:Howdy!  I second the larger machine recomendation.  I would recomend looking at ebay.  There are alot of great deals right now on the 175 series of lincolns.  They went to a newer packaging, and alot of the older packages ones NIB are out there at a great deal.  Around the same price as a 135 series welder.  I would consider that option too.  As to brand perference.  6 of one half dozen of another in this comparison.  Have fun!  Brian Lee  Sparkeee24

Reply:The Lincoln 175 gets recommendations for it's arc starts. I've never ran one.If you get a chance try someone elses 175 as a comparison. Have fun.
