Been watching awhile, learned allot, thanks for all the help! My question is, on my ac 225 code 7050-211, on the bottom of the machine is two legs, front and back. One has the axle going thru it, the other a leveling bolt i assume. I want to cut these off and rebuild them ( they're bent up and rusted bad). They are welded on from the factory. Can I reweld new ons like the originals without hurting the "block". They attach to the "heavy" part of the machine. And while I'm at it..... Can I get one of those tig conversion deals for this machine and weld in ac? aluminum? is it worth the money, can I add a tig torch straight to the machine. I have a small dc tig, but want al. capability. Thanks for any input, and again thanks for putting all this vast knowledge on this board to begin with!!!beas
Reply:You can weld tig aluminum if you add a High Frequency unit to your machine (like a miller HF-251). However the waveform on the older AC machines can't be adjusted as well as on a newer square wave machine. I'd say you'd be better off trying to find a good deal on an older miller syncrowave or something similar.
