http://www.lincolnelectric.com/focus...ool/school.aspI think it pretty good compared to all the knowledge given.Does any one know if there is anything closer to Texas for this type of welding?Does this class certify you? Thanks
Reply:Looks like a pretty good deal for what is covered.  I paid about that for a semester at the local community college - so I think about eight weeks for an hour and a half twice a week.  So five full days of in depth work.  Sounds good.Damn.  Just sold my Lincoln AC-225C welder or I would be a "member" according to them.  Wonder what you have to do to prove ownership?
Reply:I'd say yes also.  It is well worth the money.  In fact, it sounds like a bargin at twice the price.  Some vo-tech schools are fairly inexpensive, but it looks like you get a lot of very specific info and lots of different instructors in the lincoln classes that you might not get from a single teacher.  I am sure they will use this as an opportunity to feature/advertise their latest and greatest, but that's not always a bad thing.Just have your picture made with a lincoln and make a wallet size copy...."and, this is me and my lincoln on vacation at the Grand Canyon."Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
Reply:I figured they would ask for serial # on the machine.
Reply:I think i'm going to go take that class..... I'm only 20 miles from cleveland. That's a hell of a deal. I don't think it certs you in anything though. I was considering taking the AWS CWS  (supervisor) class but this sounds like alot more fun. Thanks for bringing that to our attention Casarez!
Reply:Did you notice that you could also get the reduced price if you were a member of their club?  It's free and doesnt require a welder purchase.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
Reply:Yeah, I noticed that too. I have one lincoln welder- the rest are millers. I do have a cycle racing team I weld for that I can use for backup. I guess it depends on how large Lincoln wants their signage.
Reply:I suspect this class would be well worth the investment.  I was able to tour Lincoln a few years back and was extremely impressed.  In my opinion, Lincoln as a company is top notch, their facility is top notch, their inovations in technology are tremendous.
Reply:I took the basic and advanced motorsports classes out there and more or less learned more in two weeks then I did in a year of being on the job.....it is a VERY indepth class and I found a lot of the metalurgy stuff slightly over my head but if you want to weld and weld the right way lincoln is the place to go.....I enjoyed having Joe as an instructor and steve was okay but try to get into one of Joes classes (bald guy on shade tree mechainc *from l.e.) here are a few hints when you get out there......eat at their cafateria (great grub and CHEAP) see if you can stay with a employee a lot cheaper then hotel and you dont need a car either but its nice to have one. make sure you have some time to check out cleveland....everyone is SOO nice and make sure you get down to Jonh Qs steakhouse !they do offer certs outthere and I received a PASS on a bend test for C.M. (its not aws though)and you do get a deep discount on machines and they have good demo set up but.....the shop isnt what they show you in the pics on their website so dont be disapointed when your in the *tombs*p.m. me if you have more questions -dawg
