This may be a dumb question, but I have to ask I didn't want to look like an idiot at AirGas so I will look like one here, I was cruising around the local AirGas outlet and noticed the had box after box of balloons all sizes and colors, I didn't notice any colorful pointy hats or noise makers so I'm going to assume this wasn't their party favors section, however it was 2 days before new years, they were with the torches so I assume they have something to do with regulators, or is it that its cool to fill them up with acetylene and blow them up one stop shopping ,sounds like funthanx Marty
Reply:Probably for the people filling up helium tanks. One stop shop!
Reply:nothing ive ever heard of.. are ya sure they were ballons? IF it Catches...Let it Burn
Reply:thats a helium tankChuckASME Pressure Vessel welder
Reply:I've seen 'em in my local Airgas along with helium regulators. Presumably, the balloons and the regulators go along with the gas sales.-Heath
Reply:I just got back from picking up parts from AirGas and yes the balloons are for helium...by the way I have been having problems with my welder lately (mig) it has had wire feed problems, I read several posts on this site and downloaded a manual, and found that the inlet wire guide was shot and also the liner was broken I didn't even know it had a liner I ordered the parts replaced them it it has never worked better.. this is a great forum. I have spent hours reading posts.. taking notes and trying different things my welding has improved 100% thanks for all the help hope you all have a great yearThanx again Marty

Reply:when I was in Arizona we would go camping and bring lots of the small propane cylinders ( the ones you screw onto lanters) and road flares, when we were good and drunk we would set one of them up in a dry wash strike the flare and set it behind it... then run back to a safe distance and shoot the cylinder, the results are spectaular, lots of FIRE, I told a dentist friend of mine about this he and his brothers took a liking to it, till one of them picked up a propane tank at a yard sale ( like you have or your bbq) and did the same thing with it, they chose a spillway in utah for this, I am told that it was very very scary, and several agency's responded, not to bright for four B.Y.U. grads. also dry cleaning bags full of hairspray are pretty cool to.Marty
Reply:Hey Heath, how 'bout some pics of that bubble blower? That sounds like fun! |
