Reply:Old wives tale went around for some time about the arc welding the lenses to your eyeball. The only hazard associated with contacts is that if dirt gets under the lense it is more bothersome to clear/clean your eyes.

Reply:I know several weldors that wear them without problems, but I know a couple that use a cheater lens and take them out, maybe just as a precaution. My son wears contacts, so I had been asking around.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.

Reply:They make those that make your eyes look a different color...they should be able to make welding contacts that are shade #13 for looking right at the sun.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
