Ive been using a ESAB 875 plasma cutter and the local welding shop sold me shade 5 glasses. When I cut for a while I see black spots for a while. Are shade 5 glasses dark enough for a 60 amp plasma cutter ?
Reply:Depends. They are probably already a shade 14 to UV, like most welding helmets, so only the visible spectrum is a shade 5. It's really all about what comfortable for you. I use a shade 5 myself for plasma and O/A.
Reply:#5 safety glasses here for plasma. I've gotten into the habit though of blinking as the cut exits the material to avoid getting flashed. There are no small projects |
