I have been in the market for a welder and a generator. I found this Miller Legend AEAD 200LE. I picked it up for a good price ( I think). I contacted miller to find out what accessories were available . They informed me there were none any longer. Does anyone know what these attachments were? I know this is a CC machine. Basically my stick welding skills stink. I looked into adding a mig. Miller says oh no. I saw a unit from ready weld for $500 and they said it would work. I guess what I need to know is what would make life easier for me . Should I just go out and buy a new mig? It seems less expensive doing that than adding one to mine. Could I possibly find just a spool feed for mine? I don't do much welding. I only use it for things around the shop. Any advise or suggestions would be appreciated....thanks....Jim the bubble gum welder(no stack of dimes here)
Reply:Readywelders will work. They will run off a cc stick welder if you get the correct unit...however, this will limit you to 2lb spools. Another alternative is a cv/cc voltage sensing feeder. I have a couple of old hobart hefty cv/cc suitcase feeders that would work with the AEAD (I use mine farily regularly with cc machines like a dialarc and a powcon 300ss)...I wonder why they didn't mention the 8 and 12 vs or the extreme vs suitcases...they work with cc machines also...they are just expensive new.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
Reply:thanks for the info any idea what a feeder would cost?
Reply:You can get a used 8VS on Epay for 5-800 bucks. I paid 550 for mine. The S-32P would work as well. They also have a new Miller 3045FC on there right now that will work. I believe it is also 550. I considered that one for my Bobcat, but they were discontinued before I could get one, so I got the 8VS. |
