my first bit of good welding =)

today my next door neighbour came into see what the sparks where he saw then welder behind me and knew not to look at arc so he waited till i had done (i was just practicing a run) so when when i had done he asked me what i was doing ect and then went back into his garden, about 2 hours later as i was going out he came up to me and asked me if i could weld two 1 meter gates together so he had a fance for his pond, i said yeah ok, so i tacked it all together and started welding i had finish and left it to cool, i laid it flat on the floor and then picked it up i started shacking the gates hard and the welds did not crack or snap   im preety happy now alltouh i used a whole roll or wire  thanks -Ryan

Reply:Just do what I do when someone asks me to do a favour job. While I'm doing it, I get them to do something I don't want to do. I've had people wash my car, weed my garden and do the grocery shopping while I have welded things for them.Scott
Reply:lol been there  done that  but if you do a job  tell  them its that  a  JOB at least get some  some thing in return  be it barter or cash
