for mac I hope my title is not to long to siute you you had an excelent suggestion and i can see how it would help you hope you get to feelling better I am wanting to spend money I dont have on a gas welder I have a heating and ac shop and will be needing to make a stand for a ac on sight and it is not fesible to take shop welder and would like a gas welder the sa200 is more welder than I will ever need they are all expensive abouth 2000 I have found a short model crank start leaks oil but will weld the guy wants 1100 for it it has a billow type exciter and I have been told buy a man who might know that it is a 40 model I have also found an sa 200 for 2400 in eagle pas considerable better shape self starting my question is the cheaper machine going to probably nickle and dime me to death or is rebuilding it not that big of a deal I have found someone to tell me both It is going to be hard to come up with the extra 1300 for no more than I will use it but I dont want a 130 piece of crap that the day I want to weld some thing for real wont do the job my dad has buldozer and may borow the welder at times
Reply:My opinion - Unless that 2400.00 machine is really cherry, been stored inside and has leads etc, seller will have to take less to get it sold. Although rebuilding the 1300.00 machine can make it into a 2400.00 plus machine real fast!I think its a buyers market, at least in this area (Great lakes). Are you welding ¼ angle for AC racks? Maybe you dont need this much welder on the job. A smaller machine would be easier to move to the job and maybe easier on your finances right now too. |
