Mig gun choice

I just placed my order for the HTP 2400 mig this weekend, and I have a couple of questions.I believe that a Binzel style gun comes standard with the machine but a Tweco style is also available.  Is there an advantage to one style over the other(performance, parts availability, etc.) and would it be worth a difference in price if there is one?  Either gun comes standard in the 10' length which seems adequate to me, but is there an advantage to a longer length?  They are making my power cord to my specified length so rolling the welder to anywhere in my small shop or just outside shouldn't be a problem.Second, for hobby use on the weekends what size gas cylinder would seem adequate?  ThanksLast edited by ddonnell; 02-11-2007 at 08:34 AM.
Reply:I havent done this yet, but I hear that tweco consumables (contact tips) will work on the binzel.  I havent tried it yet cause its the only gun I have besides the magnum 100L.  Id get a longer gun, at least 15 foot, you dont want to have to fool with extension cords on a welder if you don't have to.  I only hear good stuff on both tweco and binzel, you wont go wrong with either type.Remember, most gas suppliers are closed on weekends.  So if you run out...  Mig so far for me uses the least amout of gas.  Tig uses it up, I think due to argon being denser than co2 and  speed of tig welding.  I simply bought the largest cylinder they would sale me for the mig.  If I wanted to lease I could get a bigger one.  So for you, 150 cf tank aught to do the trick.  Go bigger if you can because refills are cheaper in the long run.Various GrindersVictor Journeyman torch200cf Acet. 250cf oxygenLincoln 175 plus/alpha2 gunLincoln v205t tigLincoln 350mpEsab 650 plasmaWhen you can get up in the morning, Its a good day.Live each day like its your last.

Reply:I have a small tanks but on the mig it lasts a long time. It starts flow when you pull the trigger and stops when you let off. I think I have 60 cu ft tanks.
