Is it safe to carry an o/a rig on a reciver hitch rack?
Reply:No clue what DOT regulations are. Seems too exposed to impact.
Reply:Thats what i thought but I have seen people do it so i wanted to hear what you guys thought
Reply:I wonder how impact resistant they really are? They would in effect become your bumper and first point of contact if you got nailed hard. I wouldn't carry them there just to protect the tanks from damage if nothing else. Even with the more common light impact rear enders your tanks are going to take a hit and you'll still sustain some vehicle damage on top of that.

Reply:If everyone was required to have an O/A rig on there bumper people would much better drivers and treat others with more respect.
