Best place in US to work as a welder?

What is, in your opinion, the best place for a new welder to get a good job? Also, what types of welding (excluding underwater work) pay the best?Thanks!
Reply:Whatever you can get... ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:A old Buddy told me that he was about to land a job with a firm that does high rise welding in the Oakland/ SF area. He told me that he would start out at 50+ per hour. This was just before I moved, so I don't know how it worked out.
