Reply:You probably won't have a lot of choices anyway unless you have a well stocked LWS. For the most part you're going to find E71T-11 and E71T-GS, and those in .030 or .035.. The .035 being easier to make it generally provides the better price per lb, but if all you are using is the small 1 to 2 pound rolls I'd rec the .030.. The .030 will give the better overall range of performance out of a 130 ± amp machine.
Reply:Thanks guys, I think i am going to get a roll of 11Lb... as i have no idea how long it will take for them to warranty the regulator. Sandy, what brand do you recommend or are they all the same?-Clarke 130EN-Miller MaxStar 150STL-Miller Elite 29' Roadster

Reply:Ha, after actually reading your request, I see you were asking about brands. For just flunkying around, I can go with any of the well known ones. I use hobart, weld-it (hobart), lincoln, radnor, fourney (sp). Don't use anything that is pre-aged (dirty). Use all new clean stuff. I like the way radnor runs but to my limited knowledge they don't make a multi-pass that I can glean out of any info. They (radnor) make plenty that is claimed by suppliers to be the same as this or that, but I haven't seen documentation to back that up. Not that it doesn't exist, I haven't seen it, and they haven't made it glaringly abvious. For the most part the "GS" , T-11, and multi pass thing isn't a real big deal at the hobby level.
Reply:Thanks, i am going to do pick up some Hobart or Lincoln tomorrow(as i know for sure my LWS has them). Thanks again.-Clarke 130EN-Miller MaxStar 150STL-Miller Elite 29' Roadster
Reply:I would recomend Linc NR211 MP in .030 for your rig. It will do anything you need to do.
Reply:last week i bought a 10 pound roll of lincoln .35 at lowes for 44$. if you have a lowes around check them out, it may still be on sale.
Reply:Thanks guys, i get some Lincoln for sure.Diehard, thanks, i'll check out lowes too, but i dont think the canadian lowes sells welding equ, but either way, it's worth a try.-Clarke 130EN-Miller MaxStar 150STL-Miller Elite 29' Roadster |
