Used Equip Prices?

where do i find aproximate used equipment prices my dad had some stuff and i am trying to get prices for themmuch of the pieces are in good shape but 15 to 25 years old in fact i learned how to weld on most of it 22 years agothe items areAirco Dip Cor 300 with spool gun attachmentAirco Midget spool gun model AH20EAirco Miget aicomatic control model Arc-LMiller secondary contactor model jk19the last two i belive he had setup to runthe spool gun off a truck mounted welderArcair K4000 torchHobart 300 or 400 amp welder with a ford industial 6 cyl enginethanks for any help in advanceas i am having trouble locating prices and have no use for the equipment myself and i am trying to help out my mom
Reply:Do some google searches for online auctions and GSA auctions.  You might also do some searches for the key words from the equipment brand and model.  Keep it simple and you might find stuff out there.  You can always post them on auction sites like Ebay with a pick up only or a shipper provided quote and just pick a price you think might be fair--who knows, you might just find a buyer who will pay what you want--they might get a deal, and everyone gets what they want.  If the equipment is not being used and likely won't be used--who cares.  Just my two cents.
Reply:Those old Airco machines have a nasty reputation- they tended to break down and then parts were not available. The worst were the Dip-Pacs, which are the Tig/stick machine, but even if yours runs great, it just doesnt have the resale value of a Miller or Lincoln. There is one for sale on the web by a big retail seller of used equipment for $775. Which would lead me to believe anything you got over $500 would be good. Unfortunately for you, Airco just didnt stick to the welder biz, so they are all orphans, and welding tech has changed a lot in the last 30 years to boot. The gas drive hobart is worth at least a grand or two- depends on where you are located, in some places they go for more, in areas without much industry, while other areas they are cheap.
Reply:thanks for the help on the answers the  airco machine is a dip cor mig machine that never seemed to give us trouble he had a second onethat he sold for an unknown amount to the rest of us.
