--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Hi all,I have some #2 welding cable so I thought I'd extend my welding leads on the AC-225.What is the maximum length they can be?Thanks.
Reply:With that machine's 20% duty cycle, you can go hundreds of feet. Most of the charts I'm seeing so far assume a 100% or 60% duty cycle. How much cable do you have?
Reply:I've got 100' on mine and they work just fine.
Reply:ive got about 40 feet and it does fine. if you go longer do you loose any power and have to turn it up any?
Reply:I haven't or at least I haven't noticed a lose. I inherited my ac225 from my dad when he got his hobart 10K, so it already had the 100' leads on it. I have welded with one that was straight out of the box and I can't see a difference.
Reply:I have a similar Hobart unit and I have about 100' of ground lead and 150' of electrode lead, all #2 and I don't have a problem with it but I usually snap it up a notch or so if I have it all hooked up |
