I think Ive asked the question in the past, but I am looking for a good wholesale supplier of carbon steel weldable elbows and tee's. I still have not found one that doesnt over charge. If someone knows of a good wholesaler of these things I would appreciate it. The best price ive found for schedule 40 short radius90degree weld els is $8.50, and $11 for tees. Thats for 1-1/2 diameter. Its more for 2". If anyone knows of a place with a better price, please let me know.Miller Syncrowave 200Hobart Handler 140Thermal Dynamics Cutmaster 38E-Z Tube BenderPlasma Cam DHC2
Reply:IMO, that's a decent price. Any formed angle metal is going to be pricey. Try buying mandrel bends in 3 or 4 inch mild steel...forget Stainless! Customer think I make a HUGE profit on my kits. UGH!John - fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!- bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:Micro, have you ever built a turbo mani out of weld els? I see a lot of guys doing it that way, and they get really good results. I plan on fabbing one for my 94 celica gt, and I would like to know the best size for it. I know guys use the 2 inchers for thier log manifolds, but Im not sure what size they use for thier tubular manifolds.Miller Syncrowave 200Hobart Handler 140Thermal Dynamics Cutmaster 38E-Z Tube BenderPlasma Cam DHC2
Reply:Yes, seen it and most turn out ugly, other turn out okay. Best to use 16ga. mild or SS. The weld els make sense as they are even less expensive to do than mandrel bent tubing but they are just weird looking if not done correctly. I'll check and see what I can get them at cost and let you know. Give me 5...hop in the chat and I'll give you the low down.John - fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!- bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com |
