Any and all Ideas are welcome even if there completely diffrent from what I have, I understand that what I have here could be potentially dangerous, I think. but anyways,Ive been givin the wonderful task of building a confetti cannon for a band im in. I know they sell these, and we had one but it was lost on the last big trip we took. That one was a puny little thing anyways, it had a 1" barrel which didnt hold much confetti. Im thinking about using 2" PVC about 24-30" long, Heres my preliminary ideas.I worked out the volumes and pressures using p1v1=p2v2, im guessing its probably different because CO2 is a liquid at pressure. Any one have any ideas?

Reply:If I had to build one, I think I'd use steel pipe threaded into the valve rather than pvc, if it let loose even 80 lbs. could send it soaring perilously. I'd put a pressure gauge on the expansion tank also to make sure it wasnt overpressured also. Reply:Yes, like Wolfman says, a pressure gauge. And an overpressure relief device.Your tag (Tanky321) indicates maybe you are certified to weld pressure vessels? If not, how would you plan on establishing how much pressure is overpressure? (What I'm getting at is that any pressure would be too much pressure unless you normally do tank welds).I think it will be a cannon all right. Favorite right now is a Miller Syncro 200.Tons of tools and I blame at least one of them when things don't go right. |
