Reply:I live just west of DFW Airport, and have had good luck with Norton metals:http://www.nortonmetals.com/and for scrounging by the pound, Mansfield Metals:4300 E FM 1187 (Just east of I-35 and Spinks airport)Burleson, TX 76028(817) 551-0896 Norton is steel, and Mansfield is mostly steel. I am myself, looking for a good source for Aluminum in the metroplex (the big box store mark-up is killing me!), so I am also going to watch this post.cricman

Reply:Thanks guys that gives me some places to check out. You guys are a big help.
Reply:Crawler,It has been a while since I bought any steel but ABC Pipe had more selection and better prices than Garland steel or Wylie Steel.
Reply:Try Lone Star Steel. If I remember correctly they are located around Arlington. Been too many years away from Texas
Reply:I have bought metal at most of those places mentioned. I've known victor for over 30 years at liberty. My favorite place though is dimco steel at I- 45 and lamar in south dallas. Ask if you can pay with a third party check on a mexican bank and tell them riley sent you. |
