My HH 187 is on a small cart right now. I got one of the huge bottles of gas. I need to make a cart to handle the welder and the bottle. Any ideas, pics, plans that I can get or look at to make one. Any help at all will help. Thx.
Reply:Look at the welding projects and pictures page. There are several examples of nice welding carts. The one I built is titled " another newbee, another welding cart". I have a 90cf tank on mine, built for $65, from all new materials. You only need to be 2% smarter than what you are working on.Lincoln pm140hacksawa big hammer
Reply:Ya, just search these forums for welding cart. You'll find a lot of ideas. I've actually been contemplating this lately. I've been sketching them up on my computer with a cad-type program. It's tons of fun. Maybe I'll post a picture of one later when I get home.***Stick welding like, woah.***
Reply:Okay, here is a quick 2D model of what I came up with. I just looked around for welding carts, got a general idea, then made one I'd like with the dimensions and measurements that best suited me. Edit: Oh ya, the wheels are "supposed" to be caster wheels. ***Stick welding like, woah.***
Reply:Yeah, thats the basic idea I was going with but room on the back for the big bottle of gas.

Reply:Do a search for welding cart or maybe even just cart or stand. You can look at some and then take the things you like about each one and build one custom to your needs. Below is what I came up with, I have a cutting torch along with a lincoln mig 180 so I built a cart that will hold 3 bottles on the side and the welder on top, it isn't finished yet but it will have a handle on the front and hooks on the back for the extension cord and torch hoses. I am still tryingt to decide on what color to paint it any suggestions?
Reply:Why do you guys make the top of the cart slanted? I love the color of the metal, I'd buff it down then poly it.Laura MM 180Chop SawDewalt grinderhelpful husband
Reply:The top is slanted simply to make it a bit easier to see and adjust the settings. I have seen them both ways and I think slanted would be a little nicer to have.
