We are experiencing problems since we have started using a new batch of mild steel welding rods(oxy-acet, all our welding is mild steel tubing) in that the new rods are sparking more and we are not getting the good metal flow we generally have. We have tried different brands of welding wire, but still have the same problem. We tried some of the old wire and it works fine. We had the sales representative, who is a welder himself, look at this and he agreed it was a problem, but as yet we have not heard back. We have tried different regulators, welding tips and gases, but to no avail. We believe it is the welding rod, but it seems strange that other brands are doing the same thing. Any suggestions?Thanking you Lethal:
Reply:Hmmm, Could it be a difference in the new batch of steel? If it was working fine before then SOMETHING has changed. Somtimes it can be a pain tracking it down. Just change one thing at a time until you start seeing a noticable difference.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man...... |
