What does everyone like to use for hand cleaner after wrestling with hot metal and the other funk that comes along for the ride?I LOVE this stuff.. So what do you like?...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:I like gojo with pumice but I use joy for dishes. It's just cheaper because we always have it anyway so why add an extra expense?Last edited by 12,000 Doors; 07-29-2007 at 01:18 PM.
Reply:I like citrus based hand cleaners for taking off the smell of gasoline, diesel and jet fuel. I like original gojo for greasey gunk.
Reply:Orange pumice stuff.
Reply:Gojo orange or original, then I use Dawn dishwashing liquid to get the Gojo off.  I use a small brush to get under my nails.  Someone needs to make a grinder wheel with a fingernail brush instead of wire for the tough stuff.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
Reply:I use a mixture of mineral spirits and laquer thinner to cut the crud, then gojo with grit to cut that.

Reply:Just about any brand of liquid dishsoap works good for me. I use Udderly Smooth lotion at the end of the day to make the cracked skin go away.                           MikeOl' Stonebreaker  "Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes"Hobart G-213 portableMiller 175 migMiller thunderbolt ac/dc stick Victor O/A setupMakita chop saw
Reply:Soaps and especially products like Gojo give me skin problems.  For heavy grease I use vaseline or lard.  For grimy dirt I use a stiff brush or a pumice stone with just a little bit of Ivory.  I have made too many visits to the dermatologist355# Hay Budden3# Hofi HammerPropane ForgeIdealarc TIG 300/300AllStates Oxy Propane torchSmith Little Torch

Reply:The Gojo stuff dries my hands out so bad I quit using it.  I have been using some stuff from my auto parts supplier (Parts master hand cleaner with lanolin).  its a white creme style cleaner without pumice.  So far i like it.  It does pretty well.  I also use the "Lava" bar soap if I can find it.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:Goop.  Some sort of gelled glycerine works very well on automotive grease/oil.http://www.goophandcleaner.com/Been using that for as long as I can remember.Favorite right now is a Miller Syncro 200.Tons of tools and I blame at least one of them when things don't go right.

Reply:Fast Orange is the stuff we use.  Just remembered.  We go through about a gallon a day.
Reply:Kresto by Stockhausen  cleans great doesn't dry out your skin.
Reply:Gojo orange cheap and effective. Zap where do you get the 20 Mule Team Brand Boraxo powder soap? I haven't seen that type of soap around here in years. Reply:I still have an ancient tub of Dermi-Klene Pumice hand soap. I have not seen it for sale in any stores in decades. The best I've ever used. Somebody generally keeps us in dishwashing soap at work, sometimes we have a tub of Zep, I like the Lava bars. Reply:Fast orange for sure. Although, this last gallon must have been from the bottom of the barrel - there is TONS of pumice in it and I even tried shaking the crap out of the jug. It's kind of like washing your hands with sand and a little bit of soap. Murphy's law will probably prevail with the next one and it will be too watery  Story of my life...Fire!, Fire! Reply:The powdered type soaps just don't cut here with the high winter time humidity. They end up being a cardboard tube with a clump inside. (oh good greif, I'm an expert on soap all of a sudden. Where's my skirt  )

Reply:http://www.drano.com/clogged-kitchen-drain/hehehe just kiddin, but it does make a heck of a bomb.  I have taken a handfull of laundry detergent from time to time and scrubbed the blackest of grease off but i dont recommend washing your hands with it when you have a cut. dish soap is a better choice.Nothing Ever Got Done By Quitting, Never Give Up.

Reply:Don't forget starting fluid. Works great for those stubborn deposits such as paint, thick grease, oils, tar and Diesel grunge. Smells good too and gives ya a little buzz! Just don't smoke while doing it unless you have a Halon extinguisher handy.
Reply:When picking a hand soap, I flick the side of the container and if it continues to vibrate momentarily afterwards, that's the one I buy.
Reply:im the same as 12000 doors. gojo with pumicehttp://datingsidorsingel.com/
Reply:I have issues with the hand cleaners available today. They used to have no additives and you could develop callouses on your hands and they'd stay, but the stuff now has softeners. I play guitar and bass in a band and can't keep callouses on my fingers, never used to have this problem, could swing a spanner all day without blisters, not now.
Reply:So you're blaming the soap for the callouses on your hands??????   I've heard it all. hehehehheh   Sorry, i just couldn't help myself.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:i got some snap-on hand cleaner (yeah ill buy pretty much anything off that damn truck(yes i have snap-on socks to lol) i like it as much as anything else ive used to date.one thing ive found is that some shampoos turn out to be pretty good at cutting through grease to.
Reply:In my truck and garage I have Gojo with pumice, in my house I've got Lava bar soap and between the two of those it pretty much takes care of it.  The best way I've found to get it out of your finger nails is when your taking a shower to scrub your head with your fingernails and that tends to rake it all out.

Reply:Someone mentioned Kresto. That's some pretty good stuff. They make a hand cleaner you don't use water or towels with. It cleans off the dirt, then dries up and falls off your hand like bread crumbs. Pretty good stuff.I knew a guy who was a mechanic for 30 years at Chrysler. He swore by this stuff you rubbed on before starting work. Created a clear set of gloves on your hands. Like a protective layer. He said having your hands in oil and grease all day could cause cancer. Reply:I like Joe's Hand Cleaner.  It may be more of a local brand here in Arkansas, but it has lanolin and takes off all the dirt and will get dried paint off also.  Just because it's pink doesn't mean it won't work!

Reply:The stuff that vibrates when you flick it is the same as the stuff with lanolin in it.  Gojo with pumice is worthless in comparison.
Reply:TKO, made by Zep. Blue stuff with enough pumice to make it feel like damp beach sand. Works great for me.
