Guys, i am trying to rig up a different tig cable connector for my portable machine, and I am not having much luck finding what i want. Has anyone seen a female Dinse style connector with the gas thru the center? Like used on some tig machines? I have a power block attached to a short cable with a twist lock on it, but I still have to take the time to get out a hose and run it then connect it to the power block, etc. I was wondering if anyone made a female style connector that I could hook to the portable welder, and would let me switch my tig leads from my shop machine to my engine drive without having to go thru what I do now. Perhaps I need to just buy a plug for a tig machine and install it in my engine drive somewhere. What kind of setups do you guys run to hook a tig torch upto an engine drive? ~JacksonI'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:No answer here..I would if I could..But I can't so I won't.. ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:They are available. I have seen them on line. Female Dinse with a hole for gas. I just can't remember the site right now, but stay tuned. I just got my water cooler tonight with a new torch. Male dinse with a hole in it. For now, I will insert the dinse into my welder OR the adapter I made and then hook the gas hose to gas, not that big connector block. I did buy a female dinse but no hole. I put that on an adapter to a male tweeco twist lock so I can use my shop stuff on my portable machine. Yeah, I did make a female tweeco to male dinse so I can use my road stuff in the shop. I have ONE arcair gouge right now so it can be used on both.I will look for the part you are describing because I need one too. DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:female dinse but no hole.
Reply:What I have is a power block with a small piece of lead and a lc-40 twist connector(female) that will work off the mobile leads or the pigtails on the shop machines. For gas I use the blue (not sure of the Brand)quick connects. That way it takes about 30 seconds to hook or unhook it.

Reply:Got one through the local shop. Use it for the occasional DCEP TIG my Maxstar. Never rigged a gas solenoid for it.
Reply:Miller makes one that has a hole for water that they use on the dynasty 300dx. dont thank anybody else makes them, had to order mine straight from miller
Reply:Bah, just drill a friggin' hole through a standard adapter.
Reply:My Invertec v350 has a dinse with the gas port IN it. I went to lincoln and looked at the parts sheet, but Sheet, I couldn't find the part. Most lincolns have it, like the precison tig and a few of the inverters.I think that would be the best place to look. For $80.00, I can buy a kit to put a gas solenoid on the v350. It feeds through the neg dinse, has a gas solenoid and has pre determined post flow.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor. |
