As some have seen. I now have an Idealarc-250 (Here).I was playing around today and haven't arc welded since my senior year (long time ago)Old TTB Dana 35 beam. Just for practice.5/32 6013 at 100 amps.1/8 6013 at 50 ampsNow for the question. Is this puddling normal? Anyway to finish better?Again 5/321/8Thanks in advance. Reply:Not sure what is up, but those amperages are WAY cold for the way your beads look, are you sure you are reading your amperage right? I'm not sure you could even pull a 1/8th 6013 at 50 amps......I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:Just going by the number here.
Reply:The welder seems to be working fine but the pointer is no where near accurate. It should take 110-120 amps or so to run 1/8 6013. 1/8 6011 might run at 90-110 amps. As long as you can figure out where it welds good at this isn't much of a problem. You could always take a white paint pen and make marks where your the rods you use run well at. |
