Hey fellows do you know where I could get some ANSI, AWWA; and ATSM databases. I am thinking of putting in a bid on a job and need these codes. Is there a place where these are on public databases? Everywhere I look someone is trying to sell me a book. I just need a few to see if i am going to be able to so this job or if it is over my head. Thanks in advance Guys and Gals.
Reply:A large library or preferably a college engineering library would be the only place I can think of that you can look at them for free. Not even positive since we only had hard copies when I was in school (many years ago before personal computers). ATSM will sell the individual codes to be downloaded at a fair price and probably ANSI would also. Check out their web site; they even had abstracts of the major codes to read before purchasing when I needed some additional codes. I do not know about AWWA.Finally, if you are bidding on a job, ask the engineering co. that compiled the bid docs if you could go to their office and view them there. I have had a couple of guys do that in the past.Good Luck on the bid.
