Just got a brand new precision tig 225 today. Put it together and turned it on. After checking out the switches noticed the top right knob, max output control amp knob, just spins free with no stops either way. Doesnt seem right. Is this the way this knob is supposed to work?
Reply:Yes, the amps go up as you turn it.....Correct?DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Ron I have the same machine and they are made like that.
Reply:Turn the knob slow and the amps will increase or decrease amp by amp, turn it faster and it will move faster through the amp range - short answer, that's how it's supposed to beFire!, Fire! Oh wait, that's my torch...Lincoln PT-225 TIGLincoln 175 MIG
Reply:Great machine!Doesn't matter where the knob is after it is off...when you turn it back on, it will be at the setting it was when turned off.Have you played with the pulse setting yet?BTW: I purchased the Cool-Arc 40 Water Cooler with mine and love it!ASODBeauty in the Bead!
Reply:thanks for the answers, i went back to the store and tried a different one and it was the same way so i figured it was supposed to be like that. I have not used the welder yet, just got a tank and some rods, gonna try it out tomorrow, saturday. |
