Filler Neck Supply question

Hello everybody,I have a question regarding weldable fuel tank filler necks and caps. Does anybody know of an inexpensive source for these things? The best I have found is about 30 bucks for a sheetmetal neck and unvented cap set. Reply:I've made a couple of tanks. What I did was pull one off a junk car. Some, but not all, cars have a filler neck that is flanged. They usually attach to the body with 3 screws. I added a gasket and 3 more sheet metal screws, for a total of 6. No leaks with either of them. I'm a cheapskate though .Miller EconotigCutmaster 38Yes ma'am, that IS a screwdriver in my pocket!

Reply:Yeah, Ive seen that one before, really good idea, but I am looking for new stock is because I plan on doing a run of about 10 smalll moon tanks for small engine applications. Reply:Post a pic if you can of what you're looking for. I make them when I need them. Mostly boat tanks, some aux. spare tanks for trucks. I use 1-1/2" tube for the neck, and weld it to a flange.And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.
