ok guys,a restuarant owner wants me to fab a service window out of S/S.What do you think the best way to do that is?Do they make ss wire for a mig?Or should I bring it to the shop and tig it?showin my idiocy here huh?any help will be appreciated!!"Coffee"
Reply:I have done quite a bit of restaurant work and have built a number of service windows. What I normally do is buy a pre-hung aluminum framed window and make the counter top and trim with stainless. And yes, you can mig stainless, it's a little temperamental 'til you get the hang of it, but once you do it lays out such a pretty bead. DaveI am what I am, Deal with it!If necessity is the Mother of Invention, I must be the Father of Desperation!
Reply:I must be getting really old,I just remembered,I welded up about 300 feet of s/s water pipe a couple o years ago.Hmm,an alum frame,,,do they have something like that at grainger? Thanks!! |
