I bought a solar 2114 tote mig 11 yesterday because i wanted the argon tank for my Maxstar 150 stl which arrived today Well as it turns out after the 30 mile sunday drive pick up the mig the tank was 75/25 mix not good for tig so i decided to try the 120 volt mig out as ive never miged with gas.I have the lincoln 140 they bought for me at work but have only used flux wire with it.To my suprise its a makes a nice bead and none of that nasty smoking and splattering like the Lincoln,Which brings me to my question Is the wire supposed to be hot all the time? my Lincoln i can have the wire on the work and nothing will happen till i pull the trigger, this Solar has a Tweco mini mig gun the trigger will start the wire and gas but the wire is already hot you have to like point and shoot is this normal?
