The sales rep talked the less than technically inclined boss into trying them. I think we are getting some 333 rod to try out. Are they worth the price compared to plain Jane Fleetweld and so on?

Reply:My dad used that for studs etc. We used to use eutetic 680, but can't find it any more. So now its the certainium. If there are 11 rods to a pound, then that is 30 lb$ of rod.DavidEdit, I just read your title again. Reply:Used to use it in the sawmill when I was in maint. A very good rod but the expense limited its use to critical areas.

Reply:I have tried a few samples over the years. I could never justify the expense for them. If you check Lincoln,Esab or one of the other manufactures of wire will have something with the same strenghts as they have. They might have a little different running characteristics. A couple of years ago I was looking for some hardsurfacing rod. They wanted $72.00 a lb. for something that wasn't worth the time to put it on. If you ordered at least 100 lbs. they were offering lobster or steak as a bonus for buying their wire. I ran him off and he has never came back Just my .02 cents
