Where to buy welder in Southern California?

Hi everyone,Sorry for the dumb question, but I'm new to the welding world. I would like to buy a Lincoln or Miller welder (180 or 175) and I think it would be best to buy locally so I can begin to build a relationship with the shop. I'm in Long Beach, CA so a shop in Long Beach, Signal Hill, Torrance, Orange County, etc would be great. Does anyone have experience with a shop they'd like to recommend?Thanks in advance,Robert

Reply:I would sugest calling the manufacturer of your choice. I prefer Miller. But call them and ask for your area rep. I met mine at a trade show and he directed me to and introduced me to a shop and they dive about 2% over wholesale. My case is a little diferent but you can find a good shop that way. Reply:I live in Lakewood and use Simms WS on South St. btwn Paramount and the RR tracks.  That's where I bought my welder and plasma.  You may be able to find it online cheaper, but I believe it's good to establish a relationship with the local supply house for questions, deals and quick advice.  Also, I bought my bottle there for easy refill exchange.Hobart 140 Handler w/ gasHyperTherm Powermax 380 Plasmaoxy/acetylene
Reply:Although I own only miller for now. There really is no debate. They are both great manufacturers and have great service. At one time is was Lincoln Hobart and Miller certified we hade the same problems out of both machines. I buy Miller because the prices I can get are a little better and Miller offers packages I like. Infact I am buying a used Lincoln pipeline with a perkins diesel for those all day burn as much rod as you can days. This will save hours on the Bobcat and a little cheaper to operate.
