How to become a self employed welder?

I have got a engine driven arc  welder and all the tools I need to work with already just no ideal how to find work.I have been coal mining for the last 5 years but have been welding for about 7 years.
Reply:You could you start by making your availability known to the mines that you've worked for. One of these days they'll have a need for services like yours.There must be tons of work there. You know your way around, and they trust you; that's a good start. You could start out by offering to address some simple need that you know exists. Maybe some upgrades that would enhance security, profitability or safety. Offer a flat rate delivered price; for the kind of things they would like to have, and be happy to pay for, but just can't get around to.
