I'm currently in BOCES taking a "fast track" welding course that focusses on MIG & TIG, as the area in which I live, these disciplines are in demand. I'm in the home strech and the course will be ending for me very soon and I'm trying to complete as many certifications as possible. I've passed 2 so far (vertical up FC) and horizontal solid/spray on 3/8" plate. Although I know working on them won't hurt me and will actually help me become a better welder, will they help me gain employment? Better stated, how do employers view these certs? I do know that they'll make me do them again.......All Good Medicine,Crow
Reply:It depends on what type of work your doing. If you are working at construction sites and some types of truck equipment, I would say yes.Unfortunately, usually when you get a new job you have to get a new certification. Most certifications only last for a couple of years. |
