I was wondering if the Miller Tig glove was a good product.I currently have some chinese gloves. The thumb is about 1 inch longer than my finger. The rest of the fingers are somewhat close. If i go next sze smaller, its too small.Dont mess with the guy that runs the Backhoe!
Reply:I like the Miller TIG gloves. I can pick up a 1/16 filler rod off the table with no problems. I can't do that with my Tillmans. Best try the Millers on first. They were running a half size smaller than what you would expect. They sent me some Med.'s and they were almost too small. I doused them with alcohol and they stretched right out. Same with the MIG gloves. I recently bought more MIG gloves a size larger...perfect fit and no alcohol needed on the glove at all.
Reply:Thats sounds good.I am assuming the mig gloves are thicker?I will look for some of the tig gloves.I am unable to find the kind i used to like.Red Ram(Elliot)ThanksDont mess with the guy that runs the Backhoe!
Reply:Yup, MIG are a little thicker with some extra layers on the backhand side. The HD stick gloves are the heaviest they make. They are all pretty good gloves. I was impressed. I still have to use some Nomex lined gloves when I do the high amperage stuff. The HD Sticks just don't like 300 amps plus.
Reply:ive never used the miller gloves but i use the tillman kidd skin gloves and i love them for tig welding but thats all there to be used for
Reply:doesn't matter how good the gloves are if they don't fit well. only way you'll know is to try on some different brands- everyones hands are different as is the 'fit' from different brands
Reply:aw hell what do you need gloves for
Reply:I use a Mig glove on my torch hand..Nothing on the filler.. ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Tillman's are the industry standard. Pigskin and sewn together with kevlar thread. The best in my experience.
Reply:My Millers beat the crap outta my Tillmans. I have used them side by side and the Millers work much better for me.
Reply:Thanks for the info. I have used Tillmans before. They are good.I am going to try the Millers.r-Dont mess with the guy that runs the Backhoe!

Reply:anyone got tips on where to get really small gloves in Australia - my girlfriend has small hands for a woman and is learning to weld. Seeing her with my gloves on is kinda silly but our local suppliers only sell "large, extra large and really, really big". Buying from the US to Australia adds a huge postage premium ($US15 on a $5-$10 pair of gloves) but it's looking like the only option.thanksMoz

Reply:I'm with Zap wearing a glove on the filler hand kills a lot of my dexterity.
Reply:I use Tillman Tig gloves for running sticks in the summertime here due to the heat, love them when cutting with the torch. I even wear them on my Harley for riding gloves. They hold up quite well as long as you watch where you put your hands. I used to use Black Stallion and though high they were the best, but the two pair I bought a couple months ago are truly unimpressive. The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.
Reply:I like black stallions myself
Reply:I haven't tigged in quite awhile but when I did or when doing an oxy-acet weld I like government issue nomex flight gloves or SFI-3.3/ rated nomex driving gloves. The G.I. flight gloves can often be found on ebay or at army surplus stores for a good price. The sfi rated gloves can be found at any of the hotrod shops, Summit, Jegs, ect. Both types have a nomex on the back side and leather on the plam. They're not very good for any type of welding that spatters a lot but it's much easier to find them in the smaller sizes if needed.

Reply:im pretty happy with my tillmans but i have never used the miller.
