has anyone converted the cylinder tray on a Millermatic 252 from a one cylinder to a two cylinder set up? I have looked at the new Miller tray and could not believe the price they want for a couple of pieces of plate. I have been contemplating building my own but is wondering if there is an aftermarket unit that is available out there somewhere? or is there someone out there who has a used one for sale?any assistance appreciatedGuy_48Welding is an art......Millermatic 252Lincoln SP175PlusLincoln 225 AC/DC
Reply:I put the dual cylinder rack on my Millermatic 350P. The one for the 350/350P is a different part number from the others, but I suppose might be similar design to the 252/212/DVI machines. The dual rack replaces the whole single tank rack assembly, all except for the wheels, and cost about $200. It was easy to install. One could be fabricated, but it would be alot of cutting and bending, not much welding, to make one. For the amount of time/hassle that would have been spent making one, I decided it was more cost/time effective to just buy it from Miller, even though it is a bit expensive for what it is. It is made very sturdy with thick plate and the design appears plenty strong. The price for the rack also includes the upper rack, chains and all hardware to install it. For how easy it is to put on, I think it's worth it. Heck, I spent about $5000 on the machine and related stuff that day, what's an extra $200 for a double bottle rack right?MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
Reply:Go to the Hobart board and take a look...there have been a couple of threads on the cyl racks. IIRC a search for dual cylinder rack may get what you want.
