Reply:PLASMA!   Sawzall, cut off wheel in a grinder....DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Chop Saw?
Reply:Depends on the shape. I cut 304ss .065 exh tubing with  a HF 4x6 band saw using an 18 tooth bi-metal blade. I cut sheet stainless for brackets using a porter cable portable band saw mounted in a vise. Neither one are real expensive. If I was cutting solid stock I might consider the chopsaw if I already had one.I dont like the chop saw. It takes too long to deburr the tubing. Also messy and noisy.mm135HTP Invertig 201 With water cooler9" Southbend LatheLots of hand tools.
Reply:An Arcair works well to, but the plasma is fantastic on sheet and plate. The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.

Reply:When ever possible I try to do all my cutting on the bandsaw, slow speed , plenty of cutting fluid and a 24 tpi bi metal blade.  Though I do have the luxury of a large three phase machine.  The smaller ones struggle occasionally . 95% of our stainless is 316 50.8mm tube with 1.6mm wall.A good guess is better than a bad measurement

Reply:For tube a G.F.  or Georg Fischer sawhttp://www.orbitalwelding.com/Pages/07-GF-RA.htm
Reply:Least expensive way to cut tubing and bar stock is abrasive chop saw.For sheet I would laser/plasma cut, Or of it is a small job use abrasive cut off wheel in 4 inch grinder, or sheet metal brake of coarse.Hack saw for small pieces, with 24 teeth per inch is excellent.
Reply:Interesting how a poor question will draw so many responses, half of which will be wastes of thought because we're trying to cover all the unspecified bases, and the OP never even comes back.
