I have a lincoln powermig 300 and love this machine. now i need to weld aluminum and dont know what to do. I've researched and found the Python-plus push-pull gun w/25 ft. cable for $1700. its suposed to be the perfect gun for the 300. Ive also checked out the lincoln precision tig 225 at $2000.price isnt really a concern , i,m just unsure which would be the best way to go. at this time i have a project that requires me welding on an aluminum jeep body, along with radiator, fuel cell ,an other small parts. plus once i buy 1 of the above i'm sure i'll find other uses for it. looking for the pro's & con's between the 2 choices from someone that knowstiatony
Reply:no one have an opinion? if it helps any the alum. is between .110-.150tony

Reply:I would buy the tig if it were up to me. For what is sounds like you are going to be doing I think the tig would excel. Also not having to re-spool the machine, as well as change gas. It will save time on jobs especially if you are working on one material and have a small job of another type material. Just turn the machine and gas on, select a rod and weld it.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:The TIG. It will be a more vibration resistant weld and you will need it on that Jeep.
