Reply:thanks...it was used refering to a throttle body flange and i asked the guy selling it what type of metal it was. he replyed billet...lol, wich confused me. in my head, billet meant how it was formed. but i understand now.Lincoln Square Wave 175 TIGLincoln 110v flux core welder (my 1st)Clarke 180EN MIG
Reply:What he likely means is that it is NOT cast.
Reply:In that case it is machined from a chunk of material and in this case most likely aluminum.The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.
Reply:That term is used by people that are ignorant about metal.They just think it sounds cool. Marketing scam. ETC.,.It is just a hunk of metal.90% of the aluminum used for machining motorcycle and auto parts is 6061-T6.
