Buying a new plasma cutter this week.Comparison price not an object, who makes the best with the best service??John
Reply:Hypertherm are very nice units.  Handle are a true 90 degrees that I find are much more comfortable to use.  Repairs weren't an issue when I was using them a year ago at a different shop.I have used the Hypertherm 800, 900, 1000, and 1250... all with good success.Later,Jason

Reply:I would cast a vote for Hypertherm.  They make excellent units and the service is also very good.Me!
Reply:Hypertherm 600 is what I have, and I have no complaints with the unit. And there made in AMERICA, gotta love it.Good judgement comes from experience.Experience comes from bad judgement.
Reply:miller 375 xtream here and i love it for what i do it will give a great cut on 3/16,1/4 and a pretty damb good cut on 1/2. but what are you going to be cutting the most with it.millermatic 210miller 375 xtreamlinde power supply hda 200 tigcentury 110 flux corelincoln buzz boxlet the work speak for itself i do!!!check mine out at http://www.eyepoppincustoms.com
Reply:Hypertherm is top of the line when it comes to plasma cutting.  I have two of them and have never been unsatisfied with either unit.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:Hypertherm and miller are the same just different colors and a slight differance in consumables.millermatic 210miller 375 xtreamlinde power supply hda 200 tigcentury 110 flux corelincoln buzz boxlet the work speak for itself i do!!!check mine out at http://www.eyepoppincustoms.com
Reply:slight info correction re: Miller and HyperthermAFAIK, the Miller 375 Extreme and the Hypertherm Powermax30 are -similar- and may have some common/crossover manufacturing, but they are NOT the same machine and do not use the same consumables. The other machines between those two manufacturers may or may not have a crossover between them or not.Hypertherm seems to have a good rep from some forum/web searches.  I hope so.  I grabbed a Powermax30 today, was originally looking at the 375-X but it wasn't in stock at that store but at a branch.  No chance to plug it in or use it yet.  Although the LWS guy did say that he recently went to a demo/sales thing with/at Hypertherm and although he had used some plasmas a little before, he was -amazed- at how fast the plasma cutter was.  As fast as you could reasonably move to draw a line was as fast as the cut was made, within thickess-amperage limts.
Reply:I have the Powermax 30 and give it does everything I've asked of it.
Reply:Agreed, Hypertherm and Miller are not the same machines.  I have a Powermax 30 as well, and it is a GREAT little plasma!  You will be happy with it.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:i love my miller 375 xtream. my lws guy said that hypertherm makes the miller or at least a lot of the miller guts that go in to that machine. and when i bought my miller i had it 3 days and i think it had a bad board in it because after using it for those 3 days it stoped working but i called my guy at my lws and he called the miller rep in our area and he (the rep) got me a brand new machine no questions asked. i thought that was pretty cool since he could have just had the shop repair it and have me with out my machine for up to 2 weeks. just some info i had. but i will say i have used a hyperthem the one that is rated to cut over an inch thick and it is a very nice machine.millermatic 210miller 375 xtreamlinde power supply hda 200 tigcentury 110 flux corelincoln buzz boxlet the work speak for itself i do!!!check mine out at http://www.eyepoppincustoms.com
Reply:I was looking at the Thermal Dynamics at first but now I think I will go with the Hypertherm after everyones comments and some research.Who on line gives the best deal/service etc:??Thanks So MuchJohn
Reply:Dont run away from Thermal Dynamics, I have had those and have had good luck with them. I have played with Hyper, but have only owned TD because that is what the local welding supplyer sells. Check on the internet welding supplyers, as well as ebay to find the best price, but for service and consumables go with the local guys.
Reply:Just a note: The Hypertherm 30 and the Miller 375 are not the same unit. The Hypertherm is manufactured in New Hampshire in Hypertherm's plant...the 375 is manufactured in Appleton Wisconsin at Miller. In the past, Miller made a couple of the smaller Hypertherm units (under 30 Amps).....The Powermax30, Powermax600, 1000, 1250 and 1650 are all made in Hypertherm's plant.....I have worked there for over 30 years!Jim
Reply:I like my Lincoln Pro-cut 55. It is the easiest to set up and use that I have ever worked with. All of the others I've used were older TD and Hyper units so I can't really compare them to their new offerings. The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.
